> The Galaxy S27 Pro shows up with a step-down Snapdragon, so Qualcomm's top chip may stay with the Ultra.

The [Galaxy S27 Pro](https://idevice.com/phones/galaxy-s/roadmap) may not get the same chip as the Ultra after all. Notebookcheck spotted all four S27 phones in the Niubaide trade database. The listing gives the Pro the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Ultra the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Earlier reports said otherwise. The tipster kro had the Pro and the Ultra sharing Qualcomm's top chip once Samsung settled pricing with Qualcomm. If this listing holds, that chip stays Ultra-only, and the Pro takes the step down.

The base S27 and the S27+ are listed with Samsung's own Exynos 2700 in Europe. That makes four phones and three chips, all built on a 2nm process. This year was simpler: Samsung put one Snapdragon, the 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, in the S26 Ultra, the Z Fold 8 and the Z Fold 8 Ultra.

There's also a loose end on the Pro. The Elec reported that the Exynos 2700 would go into the S27, the S27+ and the S27 Pro in Korea and Europe, and that Samsung raised its chip output because the Pro joined the lineup. This listing names Europe only for the S27 and the S27+, and it shows the Pro with a Snapdragon. Both could still be true if the Pro splits by region.

The rest of the listing is less surprising. Screens run 6.3 inches on the S27, 6.5 on the Pro, 6.7 on the S27+ and 6.9 on the Ultra, the same size as the S26 Ultra. All four start with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. Higher up the range, reports differ: one tipster now gives the 1TB Pro 16GB of memory, like the Ultra, after earlier reports capped it at 12GB. The tipster Lanzuk has also said the Pro and the Ultra move to LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.1 storage, so they'd still share faster parts even with different chips. The Pro figure fits the 6.47-inch panel reported earlier, rounded up.

How far apart the two Snapdragons are in speed is still unknown, and that's what decides whether this matters to you. A small gap is easy to live with. A big one could change which phone you pick, especially with reports that Samsung plans price rises across the S27 range.

Samsung is expected to announce the phones early next year, and Lanzuk says January, with February at the latest. If you're leaning toward the Pro for its speed, wait for the first benchmarks before you pre-order.
