## What happened

Paul Meade, Apple VP overseeing Vision Pro and unreleased smart glasses, is departing for OpenAI's hardware team, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

## Our take

Losing the guy running your smart glasses program to the company building competing glasses is a bad look, and Apple's now on its second Vision executive out the door in a year. Meade joins Jony Ive's growing OpenAI crew of ex-Apple designers. Apple's trying to enter a market growing from 10 million to 100 million glasses a year with the hardware lead gone. Fletcher Rothkopf takes over.
