## What happened

Asus and Xreal launched the ROG Xreal R1 AR glasses at $849, featuring a 240Hz micro-OLED display, 171-inch virtual screen, and a Control Dock processor optimized for ROG Ally handhelds.

## Our take

The ROG Xreal R1 is a genuine milestone — the first AR glasses to hit 240Hz on dual Sony micro-OLED displays, which is double what Xreal's own One Pro could do. At 91 grams with 3ms latency and a 171-inch virtual screen, this is the first time AR glasses specs have actually caught up to what gaming demands. The bundled ROG Control Dock adds DisplayPort and HDMI inputs so it works with your console or PC out of the box. Pre-orders are live now, shipping June 1st.
