> A labelled photograph of a chip is not a benchmark, and the open question is still whether the Galaxy S27 Ultra ships with this one at all.

SemiAnalysis published an annotated die shot of the Exynos 2700, Samsung’s next in-house flagship chip. A die shot is a photograph of the silicon itself, labelled to show what each block on the chip does, and this is the first detailed look anyone outside Samsung has had at this one. The floorplan carries a 10-core processor built around two Arm C2 Ultra cores running at 4.24 GHz and 3.36 GHz, with eight C2 Pro cores behind them, four at 3.74 GHz and four at 2.88 GHz. There are no efficiency cores on it at all. Last year’s Exynos 2600 ran a single top core with slower power-saving cores underneath, so this is a different shape of chip rather than a quicker version of the old one, and two top cores is the arrangement Apple has used in its iPhone processors for years. [SamMobile went through the floorplan block by block](https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s27-exynos-2700-chip-design-leaks/).

Around those cores sit 24MB of shared cache plus four 4MB blocks reserved for the CPU, which is 40MB of fast on-chip memory in total, more than the 24MB in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 and short of the 54MB in Apple’s A19 Pro. The graphics section is an Xclipse 970 with 16 compute units, reported to be built on AMD’s RDNA 5 design, which AMD has not launched yet. The block that handles AI work on the phone rather than in the cloud is much bigger than the one in the 2600. Four 64-bit LPDDR6 memory controllers sit along the edge, which would move the S27 to a newer memory standard than the LPDDR5X in current Galaxy flagships, and there is no 5G modem anywhere on the die, so the phone needs a separate one. Samsung Foundry builds the chip on its second-generation 2nm process. It is expected in the [Galaxy S27](https://idevice.com/phones/galaxy-s/roadmap) and S27+ in early 2027, and whether the Ultra gets it is the part nobody can answer, which is the same question sitting under the [motherboard order Samsung placed around its own silicon](https://idevice.com/samsung-ordered-s27-ultra-motherboards-built-around-its-own-chip).
