## What happened

Google launched the Fitbit Air, a screenless fitness band priced around $150, with no health data paywalls and a built-in AI coach competing directly against Whoop.

## Our take

The Fitbit Air is $100 and weighs 11 grams, four more than an Oura Ring 4 and 35 fewer than a Galaxy Watch 8. Wearing it costs nothing more. Using the AI Coach does, because that sits behind Google Health Premium at $10 a month or $100 a year, which is the price of the tracker again every year. Oura Ring 4 and Whoop MG both charge a subscription as well.
