> A specs leak called it in November 2024. Samsung showed the glasses at Unpacked twenty months later, still screenless.

The first [Galaxy Glasses](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap) have no screen. A November 2024 specs report on Samsung's XR eyewear ran through the hardware and never mentioned a display at all. Samsung put the glasses on stage at Unpacked on 22 July 2026 and the spec had not moved. Battery life is nine hours, per [9to5Google](https://9to5google.com/2026/07/22/samsung-first-android-xr-glasses-battery-life/).

Google's Android XR design documentation mandates three controls on every pair of AI glasses: a power switch, a touchpad and a camera button. A [hands-on at Unpacked](https://www.tomsguide.com/computing/smart-glasses/i-just-went-hands-on-with-the-new-samsung-smart-glasses-heres-why-id-pick-them-over-meta) put a button on the right arm for Gemini and for capturing content, with the power switch inside the left arm.

Choi Jae-in, who heads Samsung's Extended Reality R&D team, told a press briefing in London after Unpacked that the glasses are built to extend a phone rather than replace it. A pair with displays is reported for 2027.
