# Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra dies in JerryRigEverything's bend test

Zack, of the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, ran the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra through the usual scratch, flame, dirt and bend sequence, and the main display died during the second bend from the back. The phone did not snap in half, and the hinge and frame both stayed intact. Apart from the very limited Galaxy Z TriFold, this is the first of Samsung’s foldables to [break during a bend test](https://9to5google.com/2026/08/27/galaxy-z-fold-8-ultra-finally-dies-in-bend-test-unlike-past-models-video/), and the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 lived through the same one.

The rest of the run went about as expected for a folding phone. The outer display, protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, took its first scratches at level 6, while the inner display gave way at level 2 and can be marked with a fingernail. Zack then packed dirt onto the main display and into the hinge of a phone Samsung does not rate as dust-resistant, and it carried on working, with the grit audible on every fold.
