## What will it have? (today's facts are from Apple iPhone Air (1st gen))

- **Will the battery last longer?** Bloomberg reports Apple is working on exactly that, and Digital Chat Station puts the cell at about 3,500mAh. The first iPhone Air manages 22 hours of streamed video, or 27 hours of ordinary video playback, which is the weak spot of a phone this thin. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-the-battery-last-longer))
- **Will it still handle a shower or a swim?** Almost certainly yes. The first iPhone Air is IP68, good for a shower and a soaking though not for swimming laps, and nothing reported suggests that changes. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-still-handle-a-shower-or-a-swim))
- **Will it have more storage?** No storage change has been reported. The first iPhone Air is sold in three tiers, topping out at 512GB. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-have-more-storage))
- **Will the screen change?** Only a little. Jeff Pu reports the 6.5 inch screen stays and the Dynamic Island shrinks slightly. It already runs at 120Hz. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-the-screen-change))
- **Will it do 5G?** Yes, expect so. The first iPhone Air does 5G on the sub-6 bands and nothing reported changes it. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-do-5g))
- **Will it unlock with my face?** Yes, expect so. Face ID is on the first iPhone Air, and the reported change to the Dynamic Island is about size rather than about dropping the sensor. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-unlock-with-my-face))
- **Will it charge faster?** No faster charging has been reported. The first iPhone Air reaches 50% in about 30 minutes with a fast charger. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-charge-faster))
- **Will it be lighter?** Nothing has been reported about weight, and a second rear camera would work against it. The first iPhone Air weighs 165g. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-be-lighter))
- **Will the camera be better?** It should gain a lens. Bloomberg reports a second rear camera and Jeff Pu specifies a 48MP ultra wide, alongside the 48MP main the first iPhone Air already has. Its front camera is 18MP. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-the-camera-be-better))
- **Will it shoot better video?** Nothing has been reported. The first iPhone Air shoots 4K at 60fps at its highest setting. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-shoot-better-video))
- **Will it connect any differently?** Expect the same. The first iPhone Air runs Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth, with Thread for smart home accessories. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-it-connect-any-differently))
- **Will the battery be bigger?** Reportedly about 3,500mAh, on Digital Chat Station's figure, and Bloomberg says Apple has been working to improve the battery life specifically. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-the-battery-be-bigger))
- **What colours will it come in?** The finishes have not been reported yet. Five are listed against the phone in our record and none of them is confirmed by Apple. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-what-colours-will-it-come-in))
- **Will the screen be sharper or brighter?** No panel change has been reported. The first iPhone Air reaches 3,000 nits and packs 460 pixels into every inch. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/phones/iphone-air/roadmap#can-will-the-screen-be-sharper-or-brighter))
