## What will it have?

- **Will I need a subscription?** No, we do not expect one to be required for the core glasses. Gemini runs through your Google account, while Warby Parker says some features may use subscriptions, so paid extras could still exist. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-i-need-a-subscription))
- **Will it cost more?** Yes, probably. Reports put the display-free glasses between $379 and $499, and we expect Samsung to land near $499. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-it-cost-more))
- **Will it work with my phone?** Yes, including an iPhone. Digital Trends reports Android XR pairing with iPhone as well as Galaxy phones, though some Galaxy AI features may stay Android only. We expect the Gemini core to work either way. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-it-work-with-my-phone))
- **Will the screen change?** No. Fourteen reports agree the first generation has no display: audio, camera and Gemini, with nothing to read. A micro-LED display model is reported for 2027 at $600 to $900. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-the-screen-change))
- **Will it be lighter?** No, about the same. Tom's Guide reports roughly 50 grams, close to Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, and we expect the finished frames to stay around that weight. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-it-be-lighter))
- **Will I get prescription lenses?** Yes. The launch frames come from Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, both of which glaze to prescription in their own stores, and prescription support is confirmed across five reports. We expect that route to open at launch rather than later. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-i-get-prescription-lenses))
- **Is it built for sport?** No. These are everyday frames from Warby Parker and Gentle Monster rather than sports eyewear. If you want camera glasses made for movement, the Oakley Meta Vanguard is built for it, at $499. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-is-it-built-for-sport))
- **Will I take a photo without using my hands?** Yes. SamMobile reports a camera button, a power button and a touchpad on the frame, and Gemini takes the shot on command when your hands are full. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-i-take-a-photo-without-using-my-hands))
- **Will the camera be better?** It is reported as a single 12MP Sony sensor, the same class Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 uses. Outlets disagree on whether there are one or two lenses, and GalaxyClub reports autofocus, which is unusual here and would beat Meta's fixed focus up close. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-the-camera-be-better))
- **Will it connect any differently?** No, not much. Reporting puts the glasses at Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi, and we expect no cellular version. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-it-connect-any-differently))
- **Will the battery be bigger?** It is reported at 155 mAh, with a second capacity also in circulation and the two never reconciled between outlets. Either way it is a frame-sized cell, and the case is what carries you through a day. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-the-battery-be-bigger))
- **What colours will it come in?** Reported: The display is reported to show color. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-what-colours-will-it-come-in))
- **Will the screen be sharper or brighter?** There is no screen on the first generation, so there is nothing to sharpen. Fourteen reports agree on that. The micro-LED display model is reported for 2027, at $600 to $900. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-the-screen-be-sharper-or-brighter))
- **Will it get a new chip?** It runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 at 1.9GHz, on nineteen reports. That is the same platform Ray-Ban Meta runs on, so we expect the difference between them to come from Gemini rather than from silicon. ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#can-will-it-get-a-new-chip))

## Questions

### How much will Samsung Galaxy Glasses cost?

Samsung revealed the glasses at Unpacked in July 2026 and still hasn't priced them. The figures in circulation are leaks: $379 to $499 for the display-free model, codename Jinju, and $600 to $900 for the display version, Haean, which is reported for 2027. ### When will Samsung Galaxy Glasses be released?

Samsung unveiled its intelligent eyewear on July 22, 2026. The first Gentle Monster and Warby Parker collections are scheduled for fall in select markets, but Samsung has not announced an exact sale date or price. ### How do Galaxy Glasses compare with Meta Ray-Ban?

Camera and up to nine hours of battery life are what Samsung has said publicly; camera count, resolution, autofocus, chip and final weight remain based on outside reports rather than confirmed specs. Samsung's central difference from Meta is Gemini and Galaxy integration rather than a confirmed camera advantage. ### Will Samsung Galaxy Glasses work with iPhone?

### Do Galaxy Glasses support prescription lenses?

Prescription and non-prescription options are expected. Reporting says the glasses will support prescription lenses, and Samsung's eyewear partners include Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. Supported prescriptions, markets and launch availability have not been detailed. Source: [SamMobile](https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-smart-glasses-available-more-styles-future/). ([on the Guide](https://idevice.com/smart-glasses/samsung-galaxy-glasses/roadmap#faqs-do-galaxy-glasses-support-prescription-lenses))

### What is the battery life?

Samsung says the glasses provide up to nine hours of active use on a single charge, and that the charging case enables more than seven full recharges. That is Samsung's own figure; other reporting on the battery differs, and we have not seen it independently tested.
