## Can it do this?

- **Do I need a subscription?** Yes. WHOOP does not sell the band on its own: the hardware is bundled into a membership, so the cost carries on every month, and because there is no screen the app you are paying for is the only place your data appears. - **Does it track heart rate?** Yes, continuously, and this is the measurement the whole product rests on. - **Does it track sleep stages?** Yes. Light, REM and deep are worked out from heart rate and movement rather than measured directly, so the nightly split is an estimate and the week to week trend is the useful part.
