# INMO recalls Air 3 smart glasses after owners report burns near the ear

INMO is recalling about 1,643 pairs of its Air 3 smart glasses in the US, plus around 120 in Canada, because the left arm can get hot enough to burn. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the federal agency that handles dangerous products, announced the recall on Thursday. According to the notice, as [reported by Android Authority](https://www.androidauthority.com/inmo-air-3-smart-glasses-recall-3715219/), INMO has received ten reports of the glasses overheating. Some owners felt a burning sensation on their face. Others felt it on the left side of the ear.

The agency lists it as a risk of serious injury or death from burns. The heat builds in the left temple, the arm that runs back over your ear, during extended use. The notice doesn't say what causes it.

Glasses sit on your skin, an inch from your eye, and you can keep them on through a whole movie. A hot phone at least goes down on the table. INMO sells the Air 3 for live AI translation, work apps and streaming video. People do those things for an hour at a time, not in thirty-second bursts.

The recalled glasses are black, with "AIR3" and "INMO" printed on a label on the right temple. INMO sold them on Amazon, on its own website and through Kickstarter between December 2025 and August 2026, at prices from $900 to $1,300. If yours match that description, they're part of the recall.

INMO's fix is a free software update to version V3.16, installed online, so you don't have to send the glasses back.

The safety agency still says to stop wearing the Air 3 right away and contact INMO to arrange the update, rather than keep using them until it arrives.
