Conversation Focus amplifies the voice of whoever you are talking to. Meta capped it at three hours a month on glasses people had already bought, and going past that meant a $20-a-month Meta One Premium plan which itself stopped at 15 hours. [Engadget](https://www.engadget.com/2223212/meta-walks-back-rate-limits-for-smart-glasses-conversation-focus/) has the numbers.

Meta paused the tests after the reaction. Spokesperson Tyler Yee told The Verge, "we heard the feedback so we're pausing its subscription tests for now." [9to5Mac](https://9to5mac.com/2026/07/27/an-accessibility-paywall-on-meta-glasses-could-be-good-news-for-apple-glasses/)'s Ben Lovejoy described it as a paywall applied to hardware people already owned, and [Gizmodo](https://gizmodo.com/meta-is-rethinking-subscriptions-on-its-smart-glasses-2000791288) notes more paywalls are still planned. This is a retreat from one cap and not from the idea.
