> Samsung soft-launched its Android XR glasses at Unpacked with Gemini, four frames from Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, and a privacy light that works like the Ray-Ban Metas.

Foldables took the stage at Unpacked, but the event doubled as a soft launch for Samsung's first smart glasses, built with Google, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. They run Android XR with Gemini, carry a camera and no display, and Samsung quotes up to nine hours with seven more charges in the case. Four styles were shown, two from each eyewear partner, after Gentle Monster reworked the cat-eye design it first showed at Google I/O in May.

9to5Google's hands-on found the camera privacy light "works like Meta Ray-Bans", which is a more loaded detail now than it was in May: that is the same indicator [a $2 sticker defeats](https://idevice.com/a-2-sticker-beats-meta-s-anti-creep) on Meta's glasses. Samsung has not announced a price or a date beyond an autumn window, so the pitch so far is the ecosystem and the frames rather than anything a buyer can act on.
