> If you're weighing a Galaxy S26, the S27 is probably three or four months away, and Samsung is already raising prices to cover rising memory costs.

Korean tipster Lanzuk, who posts as yeux1122 on Naver, says the [Galaxy S27](https://idevice.com/phones/galaxy-s/roadmap) series is on schedule to launch in January, and that it could slip into February at the latest. Samsung has reportedly [settled the key parts](https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s27-launch-window-leak-3724822/) for the base S27 and the S27 Plus, and the phones are moving into schedule management, which points to mass production starting soon. Samsung [unveiled the S25 on January 22 and the S26 on February 25](https://sammyguru.com/galaxy-s27-series-launch-window-leak/), so January would put the S27 back on the S25's schedule, about a month ahead of the S26.

Samsung is still weighing LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage for the Pro and Ultra, and that choice could hold the launch up. The upgrade would add to manufacturing costs that rising memory prices have already pushed up. Samsung reportedly asked suppliers earlier this month to cut supply by up to 30%, and it has raised [Galaxy S26](https://idevice.com/phones/galaxy-s/roadmap/s26) prices in Korea and the US. The Ultra's chip isn't settled either. Samsung is reportedly seeing [heat problems](https://idevice.com/the-galaxy-s27-ultras-snapdragon-chip-is-running-too-hot-in-samsungs-tests) with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in pre-production testing, which Qualcomm has denied more than once, and it could use the Exynos 2700 instead. If you're about to buy an S26, its replacement is probably three or four months out, and with memory costs climbing, don't count on the S27 costing less.
