> Samsung's first clip-on earbuds cost 299,000 won in South Korea, about $220, and come in black only. Samsung hasn't priced or dated any other market yet.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Buds On, its first clip-on earbuds, at 299,000 won in South Korea. That's about $220. They go on sale there October 27, [per SammyGuru](https://sammyguru.com/samsung-galaxy-buds-on-launch-features-price/), and black is the only colour. Samsung announced them alongside the Galaxy Tab S12 series and the Galaxy SmartTag 3.

Samsung says the buds will reach other markets gradually and hasn't priced or dated any of them. The FCC cleared the SM-U600 on [September 15](https://idevice.com/samsungs-open-ear-galaxy-buds-on-clear-the-fcc), so the US paperwork is done and the US price isn't.

The buds clip around the outer ear instead of sitting in the canal, so traffic and announcements still reach you, and Samsung pitches them at walking and running. It says it studied data from different ear shapes and ran simulations to place the speakers and the battery, then widened the contact area and tuned the clip's elasticity so the pressure spreads out. A touch area on the back of each bud handles playback and calls.

Open-ear buds tend to lose bass and leak sound, and Samsung has a fix for each. A TwinBoost speaker covers the low end. Audio Leakage Reduction, which Samsung says is a first for any Galaxy Buds, keeps more of the music in your ear, and the volume adjusts to the room by itself. The chip is Qualcomm's Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform with a Class-D amplifier, and the battery is rated for 9.5 hours of continuous music.

Samsung's Intelligent Clear Call uses three microphones and a bone-conduction sensor that picks up your voice from its vibration. Machine learning then pulls the voice away from the background. Samsung's test cases are strong wind outdoors and a vacuum running indoors.

Pair them with a compatible Galaxy phone or tablet and "Hey Google, let's talk live" starts Gemini Live. Press and hold the touch area to record a voice memo, which you can search later with Bixby. That needs a Galaxy AI device plus Samsung's Voice Recorder and Bixby apps. Nod or shake your head to answer or end a call, or to dismiss an alarm.

Our [September 11 story on the Buds Manager teardown](https://idevice.com/samsung-s-clip-on-galaxy-buds-on-leave-out-noise-cancellation) listed automatic volume, the head nod and shake gestures and the voice memo from Samsung's own app code, and all three shipped. The same code pointed to a white version. The launch has one colour.
