# Samsung's Ultra 2 got slimmer and gained diving

Andy Boxall wore the [Galaxy Watch Ultra 2](https://idevice.com/smart-watches/samsung-galaxy-watch-ultra/roadmap) before launch and came away talking about the strap. [Android Police](https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-galaxy-watch-ultra2-and-galaxy-watch-9-hands-on/): "The shock resistant titanium case is 12% thinner, measuring 10.7mm, and the softer, lighter, thinner strap makes it feel so much less bothersome on your wrist." The 47mm case and the 1.52-inch screen have not shrunk. It just stops feeling like a tank.

[Engadget](https://www.engadget.com/2220551/samsung-galaxy-watch-ultra-2-first-week-testing/)'s Cherlynn Low ran a different test: "I've had one for about a week, and forced myself to be the sort of outdoorsy person that this is aimed at to see how it holds up." She is weighing it against a $50 increase over the original, which is the question a spec sheet cannot answer and the reason a week on the wrist is worth more here than the launch numbers.
