## What happened

Snap unveiled Specs at AWE 2026, a $2,195 standalone AR glasses device powered by dual Snapdragon processors with electrochromic lenses and full on-device AR capabilities.

## Our take

Snap's new Specs cost $2,195, compared to a max of $1,500 for XREAL's Project Aura and just below Apple's $3,500 Vision Pro. Project Aura needs a puck; Apple's headset straps a computer to your face. Snap's running two Snapdragon chips and lenses that do true AR and on-device processing, aimed at people who want full AR without carrying any extra hardware.
