> Photos seen by Gadgets & Wearables put the name Suunto Flex Band on the screenless HR264 tracker, with a reported €179 price and a launch late this year.

Photos sent to Gadgets & Wearables show the unannounced HR264 with "SUUNTO FLEX BAND" printed on its back, and the site's source puts the price at €179 with a launch toward the end of the fourth quarter. That points to November or December, and the band in the photos has no screen at all.

The front is a dark surface with a small Suunto logo and no display. Underneath there's an optical sensor array and four charging contacts, and it charges on a puck that plugs into USB-C. The site didn't spot any buttons. The module sits in a soft fabric band, and a second black strap turned up in the photos too, so expect more than one strap or size.

Earlier filings listed the HR264 only as a heart-rate monitor. The name and the shape now put it alongside the Whoop, the [Fitbit Air](https://idevice.com/fitness-trackers/fitbit-air/roadmap), the Polar Loop and Garmin's screenless CIRQA: a band you wear all day and night that sends its data to an app instead of showing it on your wrist.

€179 is a lot for a basic heart-rate strap. It makes more sense for a band that tracks activity, sleep, recovery and training around the clock. Suunto has been adding recovery and coaching features to its app, including its new Suunto AI Coach, and a band that collects data all the time would feed that. What the band actually tracks, and whether any of it needs a subscription, hasn't been said.

The HR264 has already cleared regulators in South Korea, Singapore and the UAE. Suunto hasn't announced the band or confirmed the name, price or date.

If you're shopping for a screenless tracker this month, hold off a few weeks. A Suunto option at €179 could land before the year is out, and its launch should answer the subscription question that decides what a band like this really costs.
