> At $699 the FE is the cheap way into the S26 line, and the compromise is storage. Samsung did hand it a camera mode that shipped with the foldables last month.

Samsung [announced the Galaxy S26 FE on August 27](https://www.androidheadlines.com/2026/08/samsung-galaxy-s26-fe-is-official-starting-at-699-and-it-brings-a-surprise-foldable-feature.html), at $699 in pistachio, blueberry and graphite. Inside is the Exynos 2500 behind a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED, with 8GB of RAM and a choice of 128GB or 256GB. Android Headlines spotted that the 128GB tier is the only one left in the S26 family, because every other model in the line starts at 256GB.

Sales open September 3, or September 4 by SamMobile's account. The battery stays at 4,900mAh, charging at 45W wired and 15W wireless, and the silicon carbon cells Samsung is using elsewhere stay with the foldables for now. What did come down from those foldables is My FanCam, the mode that locks onto one person and reframes the video around them as they move. It launched with last month's foldables, and Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, which arrived on the S26 series in February, is on the FE too.
