> The declaration lists the Classic by name but gives it no model number, no date and no price. Anyone who wants the rotating bezel is still buying the Watch8 Classic.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch9 and the [Galaxy Watch Ultra 2](https://idevice.com/smart-watches/samsung-galaxy-watch-ultra/roadmap) on July 22 with no Classic in the lineup, and no regulatory trail existed for one. A Russian declaration registered with RosAccreditation on August 14 names the Galaxy Watch9 Classic directly, and it was spotted by Gadgets & Wearables. The document runs through a long list of older Samsung watches, including the Galaxy Watch FE, the Watch7, the Watch8 and the Watch8 Classic, and ends with three 2026 products: the Watch9, the Watch9 Classic and the Watch Ultra 2.

The entry uses the retail name rather than a codename, and carries no model number. The Watch8 Classic sits in the same document with its SM-L500 and SM-L505 identifiers, while all three 2026 entries appear by product name alone, so the listing establishes that the name is alive in Russian paperwork and stops there.

The declaration arrived three weeks after Samsung had already shown its 2026 watches, rather than the months of advance notice a filing normally gives. Before the July launch there were software references pointing at another Classic, but the filings that did appear covered only the Watch9 and the Ultra 2. When Samsung then launched those two on their own, a cancellation looked like the simplest explanation.

Gadgets & Wearables has followed Garmin models through the same Russian body, and several of those went on to launch shortly after turning up in it. That is not a guarantee for the Watch9 Classic. It does mean the paperwork is worth reading.

Samsung sells the Watch9 and the rugged Ultra 2 today, and neither one has the physical rotating bezel that defines the Classic. Anyone who wants that bezel is still choosing the Watch8 Classic, a generation behind, with no date, no price and no model number anywhere to say when that ends.
