> ETNews puts Flex Magic Pixel panels on the Pro and the Ultra only, leaving the standard S27 and the S27+ with ordinary screens.

Samsung's Privacy Display will reach the [Galaxy S27 Pro](https://idevice.com/phones/galaxy-s/roadmap). The standard S27 and the S27+ go without it.

ETNews, a Korean industry publication, reported the split. Privacy Display is a hardware feature that narrows how far light escapes sideways from the screen. The person in the next seat sees a dark panel while you read your messages. It arrived this year on the [Galaxy S26 Ultra](https://idevice.com/phones/galaxy-s/roadmap/s26-ultra), where owners liked it.

The panel underneath is called Flex Magic Pixel. Samsung Display builds a tall black wall over half the pixels, and that wall physically stops light leaving at an angle. Making room for a wall that tall meant losing the polarizer, the filter layer that normally handles glare, so Samsung rebuilt its job into the sealing layer over the screen. Samsung calls that Color Filter on Encapsulation.

What it replaces is the sticky plastic filter people have been buying for twenty years to do the same thing badly.

It isn't one switch. Owners can turn it on across the whole display or apply it to particular apps and notifications, so a banking app can be shielded while everything else stays readable.

The Pro and the Ultra are being specified as a matched pair. Both are reported to take Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, a 200MP main camera and a 16MP front camera alongside the privacy panel. That leaves the Pro sitting far closer to the Ultra than the Plus model ever managed.

That is four phones in early 2027, with a Galaxy S27 FE following around the middle of the year. The two cheaper ones get an ordinary screen.

Samsung is also weighing the panel for future Galaxy Book laptops. No timing is attached to that at all.
