# The Vision Pro cuts reached Siri, and the count is about 200

[AppleInsider reported about 60 layoffs](https://appleinsider.com/articles/26/08/21/apples-latest-layoffs-extend-past-just-vision-pro-development-teams?utm_source=rss) across the Apple Vision project on Thursday, then put the full count at about 200 the next day, once Apple Vision Immersive Video, Apple Vision gaming and Siri were counted alongside the headset team. The cuts land a couple of weeks before Tim Cook hands the company over to John Ternus, and nobody has said who ordered them.

Mark Gurman [reported for Bloomberg](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-08-21/apple-cuts-jobs-in-siri-vision-pro-immersive-video-and-gaming-teams) that the round runs past the headset team into Siri and into the Intelligent Systems Experience group, which builds some of the AI features on Apple’s devices. Apple answered with a statement: "While we will create new roles as part of this change, it will also impact a limited number of existing roles". Staff were told separately that the visionOS operating system is not going away.
