> The Pro 2 sheds 20 percent of the old model's weight, and resolution and refresh rate are exactly what they were.

The [Viture Pro 2](https://www.engadget.com/2231156/virtue-pro-2-are-the-companys-lightest-and-most-comfortable-smartglasses-yet/) went on sale August 6 at $299, and at 63 grams it is 16 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than the Pro it replaces. The Sony-made displays reach a claimed 1,600 nits of brightness, the field of view widens from 46 degrees to 50, and a built-in focus adjustment for each eye covers 0 to minus 5.00D, which Viture says lets some nearsighted buyers skip a prescription insert, though it will not cover every prescription. Resolution stays at 1920 x 1080 per eye. So does the 120Hz refresh rate.

These are display glasses rather than standalone eyewear, so a USB-C cable still runs from the frames to a phone or a laptop, and the lenses are bulkier than the slimmest designs. The [$99 Mobile Dock Mini](https://www.digitaltrends.com/wearables/vitures-lightest-smart-glasses-yet-still-put-a-massive-146-inch-screen-in-front-of-your-eyes/) that launched with them weighs around 250 grams, holds a 10,000mAh battery, and carries a magnetic adapter that detaches to plug a Switch 2 into a TV. Buying both together costs $378.
