> If you use YouTube Music and want to leave your phone at home on a run, the Fenix 9 can do that now. You'll need a paid subscription, and it may not have reached every country yet.

Reddit user gloomwind found that the YouTube Music app can now be installed on the [Fenix 9](https://idevice.com/smart-watches/garmin-fenix/roadmap/fenix-9) and Fenix 9 Pro, and [Gadgets & Wearables reported it](https://gadgetsandwearables.com/2026/10/21/garmin-fenix-9-youtube-music/) on October 21. The watches launched in August without it, even though the app has worked on older Garmin watches like the Fenix 7 and Epix since June 2024. Both models now show up on the app's Connect IQ store listing.

It doesn't stream. You download playlists and podcasts over Wi-Fi, then listen through Bluetooth headphones without your phone, and you'll need YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium. The Fenix 8 and 8 Pro waited for the app too. Some Fenix 9 buyers paid for Spotify Premium in the meantime, and one owner returned the watch and went back to an older Epix. One owner in Germany still couldn't see the app, so it may not have reached every country yet.
