What we’re expecting
Apple's August 2024 patent describes a small microphone embedded in the ring that can detect voice commands and infer the context the ring is operating in. That strongly implies Siri integration, asking questions with your phone still in your pocket, though it remains a patent, not a promised feature.
Apple's rumored iRing may do more than track steps. A patent flagged by 9to5Mac describes a built-in microphone that picks up your voice and surrounding sounds to work out what you're doing and where you are. Siri input from your finger sounds odd, but it makes sense if Apple wants a device that works with no screen nearby.
