The Short Version
Apple Watch Ultra 4 reportedly arrives thinner, with doubled sensors, blood pressure tracking, and a second FDA submission, as production ramps in July 2026.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 is reportedly the thinnest Ultra ever, 10 to 15 percent slimmer, with production starting July 2026 and shipment forecasts 20 to 30 percent above last year. The sensor count doubles from 4 to 8, with better accuracy across skin tones and a new blood pressure feature headed for FDA review. That last part is where the story gets complicated. Apple already notifies users about hypertension trends using the existing heart-rate sensor, and nobody has clearly explained what new hardware the actual blood pressure reading requires. Samsung already does direct blood pressure measurement. Apple is submitting to the FDA a second time, which either means the first attempt fell short or the new sensors genuinely change what the watch can do. The honest answer is nobody outside Apple knows yet.
