Privacy Policy

iDevice is an independent editorial publication covering wearable computing. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit iDevice.com, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Information we collect

Usage data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how readers find and engage with our content. Google Analytics collects standard internet log information and visitor behavior patterns anonymously. This data does not identify you personally. You can opt out by visiting any iDevice page with ?notrack=1 in the URL, which sets a permanent opt-out preference in your browser. You can also use Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Contact submissions. If you send us a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send you editorial updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.

Push notifications. If you click “Notify me” on a roadmap page, we request your browser's push notification permission. If granted, your browser generates a push subscription token which is stored on our servers and used solely to send you updates about that product. You can revoke this permission at any time in your browser settings.

Cookies and local storage. We use browser local storage to remember lightweight preferences such as your analytics opt-out choice. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

How we use your information

We use collected information exclusively to operate and improve iDevice — to understand what content resonates, to respond to reader messages, to deliver newsletters and push notifications, and to remember your preferences. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Third-party services

iDevice uses a small number of third-party services to operate:

• Google Analytics — anonymous traffic analytics
• Resend — transactional email delivery for contact form responses
• Railway — hosting and infrastructure

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Push notification subscriptions are retained until you revoke browser permission or request removal. Analytics data is governed by Google's standard retention settings (14 months).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, use our contact form. If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

iDevice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date. Continued use of iDevice after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
