Pixel Watch 4 set a new standard for Android smartwatches when it launched October 2025 — standalone satellite SOS, Actua 360 domed display at 3000 nits, and Gemini on-wrist. Pixel Watch 5 is expected at Made by Google in August 2026 alongside Pixel 11, with shipping in October 2026. A prototype was photographed on a Caribbean seabed by Randy Pitchford in May 2026, confirming the Pixel Watch 5 name, IP68, and the same sensor suite as Watch 4. Google's own audio roadmap documents from 2023 suggested a custom Tensor "NPT" wearable chip for 2026 — the first time Google would use a custom chip in Pixel Watch rather than Qualcomm Snapdragon.

Pixel Watch 5 prototype found on Caribbean seabed
Randy Pitchford posted two images of a Pixel Watch 5 prototype found by a diver near St. Martin, Caribbean. Back of device clearly reads "Pixel Watch 5" with IP68, HR/SpO2/EDA/skin temp/UWB sensor labels. Same design as Watch 4. Google did not comment. Owner retrieved the prototype.
