Preorders are open at $2,195 with a $200 refundable deposit, for a fall ship in the US, UK and France. Snap has said since June that this generation is for developers and early adopters, so the four-hour battery is aimed at people who expected it.
Snap filled in the apps and added store demos through Verizon, but the glasses still only have a later-this-fall window, and a reviewer who liked them is not sure who they are for.
Developers have been building in Snap's Lens Studio since 2017. The consumer pair lands this fall, and Lens work now happens inside Claude Code.
A 51-degree waveguide, 16 million colors and a seven-millisecond redraw. Snap built these for spatial apps, not for notifications.
Snap will demo Specs in full on September 16, and the price is still the hard part.
