Snap's consumer AR glasses are finally coming

Snap announced Specs at AWE 2026, standalone AR glasses with dual Snapdragon processors and waveguide displays priced at $2,195.

Five generations of developer-only hardware (and $3B) is a long runway, and CEO Evan Spiegel used a 30-minute keynote today to argue the sixth pays it off. Snap's consumer Specs run on Qualcomm chips and are uniquely positioned as the first true AR glasses not requiring a tether, wristband or puck. The question is whether anyone actually wants to wear bulky glasses that in no way pass as regular-looking glasses.
