Snap Specs ship this fall into a library that has been filling up since 2017. Lens Studio, Snap's build tool for augmented reality, has been open to developers for nine years, and Specs run those creations on the device. How much of that back catalogue works well on the new hardware is not established, and it cannot be until the glasses reach buyers.

Lens work now happens inside the AI coding assistants developers already use. According to Snap, its Lens Studio agents and skills run in Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, so someone building a Lens does not have to pick up a new toolchain.

That is a change to how a Lens gets made, and it is separate from what answers a wearer through the glasses. Snap documents its OpenAI and Gemini integrations on their own. Preorders are open and the ship window is fall 2026.
