Some Pixel Watch 1 owners opened Google Health on Tuesday and found a card warning that their watch was running an older version of Wear OS, that sleep and workout syncing would stop, and that they should update to the latest version. The watch was already on the latest version. Wear OS 5.1 arrived in October 2025 and nothing has followed it. An owner posted the card to Reddit, and a second owner in the same thread posted what looked like a reply from Google support saying the first-generation watch is no longer supported.

Google said that afternoon the card was a bug and that the Pixel Watch 1 remains fully supported, so sleep and workout data keeps syncing. Google guaranteed updates for the original Pixel Watch until October 2025 and no further, three years after it went on sale. Since then it has had one modem update, in March 2026, and no move to a newer version of Wear OS. Every other Pixel Watch is still inside its window, and the Pixel Watch 2 guarantee runs to at least October 2026.

Update, Aug 19, 8:22 AM CT: Google has since fixed the bug behind the false Google Health warning, and its statement covers legacy Fitbit devices as well as the original Pixel Watch, per Android Headlines.
