What we’re expecting
Apple canceled Vision Air, the lower-cost standalone headset it was developing as a mainstream entry point. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman confirmed in May 2026 that it had been shelved the prior year. The Elec's July 2026 report that Samsung is winding down the G-VR display panel by September corroborates the cancellation through the supply chain. Apple pivoted to smart glasses for the mass market instead.
