Vision Pro M5 ships with visionOS 26. Apple's spatial computing software stays active even with the hardware roadmap paused.

Apple's keeping visionOS alive with updates, visionOS 26.5 shipped with bug fixes and security patches, and visionOS 27 is already in development, even though new Vision Pro hardware is still years out. Owners of the $3,499 headset aren't getting abandoned, but they're also not getting anything new to plug in. Software updates are the whole product roadmap right now.
