Apple announced visionOS 27 in June 2026, a software update for today's Vision Pro. It adds Apple Intelligence features, Visual Intelligence and other spatial improvements.

The update comes as new headset hardware looks further away. Apple told employees in August that Vision Pro and visionOS are not going away and that a new model could come as early as 2028, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported.

The current Vision Pro got an M5 chip upgrade last October. visionOS 27 reached beta 7 in late August.
