Samsung Display is ending work on a screen called G-VR, according to The Elec, a Korean tech news site, in July 2026. The screen was meant for a cheaper, lighter Vision headset.

The report said development would formally end in September. The panel had been expected to reach mass production sometime after 2028, and the report tied the decision to Apple's shift toward AI smart glasses.

Apple has not said anything about the report.
