Google Android XR glasses confirmed with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster

Google's Project Aura AR glasses are the clearest sign yet that your phone's replacement will sit on your nose.

The Short Version

Google previewed Android XR smart glasses at I/O with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster partnerships, featuring live translation and Gemini AI backed by a $100 million investment in Gentle Monster.

Google put $100 million into Gentle Monster last year, and now that investment is paying off as actual retail partnerships with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster for Android XR glasses previewed at I/O. The glasses run Gemini AI through your phone via Bluetooth, translate speech in the speaker's voice, and overlay text from menus and signs directly in your view. Apple still has no ship date for its glasses. Google is already in stores.
