VISION PRO

Apple Vision Pro used in hundreds of surgeries as medical tool

The Short Version

Dr. Eric Rosenberg at SightMD New York performed the first cataract surgery using Apple Vision Pro in October 2025, using the headset to display and magnify the patient's eye in real time.

Dr. Eric Rosenberg at SightMD has now performed hundreds of cataract surgeries using Apple Vision Pro. That is not a proof of concept anymore. But clinical validation, the independent studies that confirm a new technique is actually safe at scale, has not kept pace with how fast surgeons are adopting it. Apple's medical credibility now depends on outcome data that nobody has published yet.
