Meta smart glasses announced starting at $299 without Ray-Ban

updated 2h ago

The Short Version

Meta announced three new AI glasses styles starting at $299, dropped Ray-Ban branding, and added a $399 Kylie Jenner edition with a custom AI voice.

Meta dropped Ray-Ban branding entirely and announced three new smart glasses. Fury, Adventurer, and a Kylie Jenner collaboration called Starfire, starting at $299, with the Kylie Edition hitting $399 and including a custom AI voice and a charging case with a built-in mirror. Twenty-six style combinations, 3K cameras, and an updated AI assistant round out the hardware. Dropping a fashion brand that helped sell millions of units is a bold move, and replacing it with a celebrity collab is a very different kind of credibility play. Meanwhile, Italian startup Lorika is selling $35–$40 polycarbonate clip-on covers for the older Ray-Ban Meta frames, which is a more honest solution to the problem Meta just tried to solve with a $399 price tag.
