Samsung made its next Galaxy Unpacked official today, setting the event for July 22 in London and opening pre-reservations across several markets, without naming a single product it plans to show.
Samsung's reservation page refers only to "the next Galaxy" foldables and watches, not the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, Watch 9, or Watch Ultra 2 by name. Every one of those names comes from months of leaks and regulatory filings, not from anything Samsung has confirmed. The invite tagline reads "A New Shape Unfolds," which points at the foldables without spelling anything out.
The reservation terms change depending on where you live. US customers reserve for free and get a $30 Samsung credittoward a pre-order, plus entry into a draw for one of ten $500 gift cards. India is a different setup. Samsung's asking people there to put down Rs. 999, about $12, to reserve its next foldables, with a Rs. 2,799 voucher coming back toward the purchase. Collecting a deposit before anyone's seen a spec sheet is the more aggressive version of this move.
The watches are expected to be the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2, with no Classic model since none has appeared in any regulatory database. The foldables are rumored to include a wider Fold 8 Ultra and the Z Flip 8. Samsung may also use the event to show its Android XR Galaxy Glasses, though that remains unconfirmed.
Samsung follows a predictable rhythm here, having announced the Watch 8 on July 9 last year and put it on sale July 25. Repeat that timing and the new watches land on shelves in early August.
