Snap OS has taken 10 updates in the past year and a half, per Snap, adding hand tracking and dozens of features and APIs. Developers have built Lenses on it since the Spectacles developer kit, so consumer Specs launch with hundreds of Lenses already there.
Snap OS puts hand tracking front and center, so you control everything with your hands, no controller. And because Snap already has an app library, developers don't start from scratch building for it.
