What we’re expecting
Satellite connectivity launched on Ultra 3 and is expected to continue on Ultra 4, covering Emergency SOS via satellite plus Messages and Find My via satellite with an active cellular plan.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 already has satellite connectivity built in, no iPhone needed to send an SOS, share your location via Find My, or text someone when you're out of cell range. Ultra 4 is expected to carry that forward. If you're deep in the backcountry with a dead phone, your watch can still call for help on its own.
