HTC VIVE Eagle vs Solos AirGo 3: which should you buy?

The HTC VIVE Eagle and the Solos AirGo 3 do different jobs. The HTC VIVE Eagle is camera glasses for photos and video. The Solos AirGo 3 is audio glasses for music, calls and ChatGPT by voice.

Who should get the HTC VIVE Eagle

Get the VIVE Eagle if you want camera and assistant glasses that look like ordinary frames. HTC gives it hands-free 12MP photos and 3K video, an assistant on Gemini or GPT, and live translation. It works with an iPhone and with an Android phone, and it suits people who want to capture and ask, not watch.

Who should get the Solos AirGo 3

Get the AirGo 3 if you want audio glasses that look good and talk back. Solos gives them open-ear speakers, about 10 hours of music and ChatGPT by voice, with live translation for group conversations. They work with an iPhone and with an Android phone.

The differences that matter

Neither pair leads on the things we compare, so the job decides. If you want a camera, it is the Eagle. If you want music and an assistant in good-looking frames, it is the AirGo 3.

Both work with an iPhone and with an Android phone, so your phone does not decide this one.

Smart glasses only work if you keep wearing them, so fit matters more than any spec. Try a pair on if you can, and check what prescription lenses will cost before you order. A pair that pinches your nose or slides down on a warm day will end up in a drawer, whatever it can do.

Pick the VIVE Eagle to capture. Pick the AirGo 3 to listen.
