Pixel 9-series models will include Thread radios.

Did it turn out to be true?

Right. It turned out the way this report said. It was reported on Jul 12, 2024 in 9to5Google, and we could not tell who reported it first. That was 32 days before Google Pixel was announced on Aug 13, 2024. Regulatory reporting based on Google's Pixel 9 FCC/NCC submissions identified Thread radios across the Pixel 9-family hardware. This grades the physical-radio claim, not whether Google later exposed Thread as a retail feature.
