Norway's government plans to propose a temporary ban on camera glasses in public places where people could be recorded without noticing, according to Gizmodo. The ban would cover beaches, parks, schools, pools, healthcare facilities and changing rooms, and Norway would be the first country to propose one.
The government wants to propose the ban as soon as possible and then set up an advisory panel to work out what it looks like, according to Reuters. One thing the panel has to settle is whether the ban applies only to glasses with cameras or also to camera-free pairs like the ones Even Realities makes. Hamburg already bars smart glasses on public transit and at public pools, and New York bans them in courts statewide.
