Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 · Reported Feature

The Watch 9 may be stuck on Exynos

What we’re expecting

Qualcomm named the Galaxy Watch a Snapdragon Wear Elite launch partner at MWC 2026, but Samsung's language was generic. SamMobile, Samsung's most credible leaker, reports the split: Snapdragon Wear Elite for the Ultra 2 only, while Watch 9 keeps the Exynos W1000 already in the Watch 7. If correct, Watch 9 is evolutionary rather than transformational on chip. It resolves July 22.

The Galaxy Watch 9 may ship with the exact same processor as the Watch 8, the Exynos W1000, a chip Samsung already used last year. The Ultra 2 reportedly gets Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite instead, which would make the chip the clearest line between the two watches. If it holds, buyers upgrading from a Watch 8 get no speed improvement under the hood.
