Whoop launched Advanced Labs last fall and you needed a Whoop membership to use it. That requirement is gone. Somebody wearing a Garmin, an Apple Watch, an Oura Ring or a Pixel Watch can now order a panel and pay for it without a Whoop subscription. The tests run through Quest Diagnostics, start at around $150, and cover cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal and inflammatory health. Whoop is selling the lab work by itself, without taking in data from anybody else's wearable.
The newest item on the menu is Grail’s Galleri, a single blood draw that screens for more than 50 cancer types at nearly 2,000 Quest Diagnostics locations, with the analysis carried out at Grail’s laboratory in North Carolina. It flags a possible cancer rather than diagnosing one, and it is meant to sit alongside the screenings a doctor already recommends. Whoop has spent the last few years adding Healthspan, ECG, Blood Pressure Insights and Advanced Labs to a company that started with recovery scores. None of it is covered by insurance.
