Apple released the fifth version of its AirPods beta firmware on Thursday, build 9A5347a, for developers and public beta testers. It goes to the AirPods Pro 3, the AirPods Pro 2, the AirPods 4 and the AirPods Max 2. Those are the four models running an H2 chip. The build before it, 9A5336b, arrived two weeks ago.
iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate land next month with a new AirPods interface, a slider for Adaptive mode and support for custom EQ, and this firmware carries the AirPods side of all three. AirPods also work with the new Siri AI. A couple of the features are held for the AirPods Pro 3. Opting in happens from the AirPods settings screen, and installing takes a few hours with the buds on power, because AirPods have no software update screen. The camera-equipped AirPods that leaked this week are off Apple’s 2026 schedule, which leaves the September event as the next place new AirPods features could show up.
