Apple's support note for iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 now lists five Canadian provinces where AirPods Pro 2 and later can run the Hearing Test and the Hearing Aid feature: Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan, per MacRumors. You'll need the latest AirPods firmware and an iPhone or iPad on the new software. Both updates were still in beta on October 26, with a release possible that day.

The Hearing Aid feature turns up the sound around you, and Apple pitches it at adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. It costs nothing extra. The Hearing Test takes five minutes, checks how well you hear different frequencies, and ends with a hearing loss classification and suggested next steps. People in the U.S. have had both since October 2024. Every other Canadian province still goes without, though Ontario is reportedly about to change a law that would clear the way. Hearing Protection, the third feature, was already available in Canada.
