Garmin's Fitness division grew 25% year on year to $757 million last quarter while the pricier Outdoor line slipped 2% to $483 million, and the standout was the product with no screen. CEO Cliff Pemble told analysts: "The actual result, once we announced the product, was very strong, ahead of our expectations," and said Garmin would be chasing back orders for a while. The Cirqa is now quoted at five to eight weeks out at $199.99.

Reading that backorder as pure demand is the easy move and Forbes declines to make it, noting Garmin has said nothing about launch volumes and that the Cirqa uses the familiar Elevate v4 sensor array rather than anything new to manufacture. A long wait can mean a hit or a small first run. Gadgets and Wearables separately found an Enduro 4 reference inside Garmin Connect, which points at where the weaker Outdoor half gets its answer.
