Garmin's firmware 4.20 for the CIRQA band adds vibration alerts for incoming calls and smart notifications, Gadgets & Wearables reported on October 22. When the $199.99 band launched, Garmin said calls and notifications wouldn't make it vibrate, even though it already had a vibration motor for alarms. Garmin's own CIRQA support page still says the band can't vibrate for calls, texts or other phone notifications.

There's still no screen. The band gives you a nudge and you check your phone to see who it is. Owners had been asking for this on Garmin's forums for a few months, including one who said it would help with their hearing problems. The update also adds automatic run/walk detection for Trail Run. You can now calibrate distance for treadmill runs, indoor rowing and indoor cycling before you save, and Garmin Connect's Live Activity screen shows your heart rate before you start recording.
